Mr Adam Koo is the Chief Executive Officer of Business Environment Council. Adam works closely with the Board of Directors in setting and implementing organisation strategies. He runs daily operations, leads BEC’s policy contribution, ensures BEC’s continuing relevance to bring values to its stakeholders as well as the community at large. He is the Vice-Chair of BEC’s advisory groups.
Adam has more than 30 years of executive experience throughout Asia in the private and NGO sectors. He has strong expertise in a broad spectrum of management disciplines including, among others strategic planning, finance and operations management, and business development. Prior to joining BEC, Adam spent 4 years as CEO of the Hong Kong office of the world’s largest environmental NGO. Adam holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Marketing from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.
Ivan is responsible for BEC's financial strategy, budgeting control, accounting, information technology and personnel information management. He serves as company secretary for BEC and also manages the overall leasing, facilities and maintenance of the Jockey Club Environmental Building.
Prior to joining BEC, Ivan has over 10 years of management level working experience with multinational companies responsible for financial management of their subsidiaries in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Asia Pacific, US and Europe.

Ir CF Leung is Director – Green Building & IAQ of Business Environment Council. He is a BEAM Professional, a Green Building Faculty Member, a Registered Professional Engineer, a Registered Energy Assessor, an accredited IAQ Signatory, a Chartered Engineer, a Chartered Environmentalist, a Chartered Water & Environmental Manager and a Certified Carbon Auditor Professional. CF specialises in green building advisory, carbon audit, energy efficiency and indoor environmental quality consultancy.
CF recently completed a project to transform the BEC Headquarters to become the first commercial building in Hong Kong to achieve the Platinum Rating of Provisional Assessment under the BEAM Plus Existing Buildings Version 1.2. With the introduction of environmentally friendly features and practices, the project aims to enhance the energy efficiency of the BEC Headquarters and showcase the greening of existing buildings.
CF also delivers BEAM Professional training courses. He is representing BEC in the Board of Directors of BEAM Society Limited.

William Lin is Director – Environmental Management of BEC. He is currently leading a team of professionals in delivering various environmental programmes for the government and the business sector. With over 20 years of experience in Testing, Inspection & Certification (“TIC”) industry, William had got his qualifications and experience in different international management system standards such as ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, ISO 14064 Greenhouse Gas Verification, ISO 14067 & PAS 2050 Product Carbon Footprint, CAP Carbon Auditor Professional, ISO 13485 Medical Device Management System, and SA8000 Social Accountability. Besides, William was leading various environmental related projects such as GHG verification for UN Pavilion of 2010 Shanghai Expo; GHG Verification for Oxfam TrailWalker; Polyethylene plastic bag recycling process verification; Bio-based plastic product verification against ASTM D6866; and Product eco-design and packaging study. Currently, William is a member of Hong Kong Accreditation Service (“HKAS”) Greenhouse Gas Validation and Verification Task Force.

Bonnie joined BEC in February 2008 as Project Officer, then Research Manager, of Climate Change Business Forum (CCBF), an initiative of BEC.
In 2012, Bonnie was appointed as Manager – Membership, then being promoted as Senior Manager in 2014. Over these years, Bonnie has led the membership team in developing a trustful relationship with members while acquiring a rich experience in client servicing. As of 2017, the number of BEC Members has been doubled to approximately 200 compared to 2012. In addition to developing BEC Membership portfolio, Bonnie also serves as secretariat to BEC Communications and Membership Committee (CMC). CMC is composed of Member representatives and was established with the objective to provide strategic guidance to BEC membership and communications affairs. Among many membership functions, Bonnie organises monthly Industry Visit that facilitates members and industry partners to exchange best practices in environmental sustainability.
Prior to joining BEC, Bonnie was an interior design project manager. Bonnie graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies and Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) in the United States. She also possesses qualifications of being a carbon auditor, an energy auditor and a corporate trainer. Presently, Bonnie is a candidate for the Executive Master in Innovation Leadership (EMIL) Degree to be granted by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2017.

Maya leads BEC’s work on developing and researching policy, through BEC’s Advisory Groups on Climate Change, Energy and Transport, to advocate good practice to BEC members and the wider business community, as well as to influence the environmental policy framework so that it supports excellence in environmental performance.
Maya has worked for over 8 years in environmental policy and sustainability. Prior to joining BEC, Maya worked for the UK’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs leading a number of policy teams, including on green procurement, greening government performance and reporting, and flood risk management. She has extensive experience of working with business, the public sector and the wider community in developing environmental policy positions, putting them into practice, and communicating their benefits.

Dr Lamrad manages the sustainability and ESG advisory team at the Business Environment Council. Prior to joining BEC, Dr Lamrad completed her PhD during which she specialized in global governance, private regulation, corporate responsibility and sustainability. In her academic capacity, Dr Lamrad developed and published innovative models for understanding how corporate responsibility is operationalized. Her research agenda debates both the theoretical and practical role of business in the development and implementation of corporate responsibility and sustainability policies.
As a result of eight years of related research and analysis, Dr Lamrad has in depth specialist knowledge in corporate responsibility and sustainability that provides her with the essential expertise to identify and assess ESG risks, and make informed predictions regarding future developments.

Janice’s role with BEC is to lead the event team to develop a wide array of inspiring events, conferences and networking platforms for the members and stakeholders on a diverse range of environmental topic.
Janice has over 15 years of integrated marketing, conference and project management experiences. Prior to joining BEC, Janice has been the representative for British Tourist Authority for South China and Hong Kong, managing key stakeholder relationships and strategic partnership. She has also been the project manager for the Business of Design Week, responsible for the overall PR and event management for Asia’s leading annual design, business and innovation week.

Thierry has over 15-year experience in environment-related fields, particularly in environmental management system, environmental education and research, green procurement, eco-labelling, product certification and auditing (carbon, QMS, EMS and CSR). Ir Alan Hung is Senior Manager – Green Building & IAQ of BEC. He is also a Registered Professional Engineer with over 15-year of experience in engineering, construction management and project management, as well as design, contracting, testing & commissioning of building services systems. He is the facility management manager of BEC Headquarters and is also responsible for the project management of the BEC Headquarters Transformation Project, which has improved the overall energy efficiency of the building and achieved the Platinum Rating of Provisional Assessment under the BEAM Plus Existing Buildings Version 1.2

He acts as a BEAM Plus consultant for over 30 new and existing building projects covering residential, commercial, educational, industrial development and provides green building advisory services to developers, architects and engineers. Nelson is specialised in CFD study, daylight analysis and energy modelling.
Prior to joining BEC, he worked in an Australian based multinational engineering consultancy firm as a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and environmental sustainable design (building) engineer. He holds a Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering (by research) from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University. He was also an Australian Green Star Accredited Professional and a NABERS Accredited Assessor.

Dr Veronica Chan has over 12 years of experience in environmental-related research, consultancy, and training at different levels ranging from higher diploma to postgraduate levels. Her expertise and research interests included green building labelling tools, monitoring and disinfection of the bioaerosols, health risk assessment and modelling of the indoor air quality (IAQ) pollutants. She has published 40 papers in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences, contributed as an international journal reviewer, and participated in more than 100 IAQ-related projects. Currently, she is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the BEC Institute of Environmental Education ("BEC IEE"), which is a platform for BEC to provide environmental education to the industry practitioners.
Veronica holds a PhD degree in Building Services Engineering, an MPhil degree and a BSc (Hons, First Class) degree in Applied Biology. Prior to joining the BEC, she worked in City University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Hong Kong Community College, and the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education.
