Connecting, Nurturing, Creating for Sustainable Environment

Developing the Waste Economy Hong Kong

Business Environment Council is pleased to be a supporting organisation of Developing the Waste Economy | Hong Kong organised by TOMA-Now | Tomorrow Matters Now.

About the Event

The workshop focuses on the practical steps needed to develop a viable global waste economy. This is a bespoke, curated event (with limited seats) that will facilitate an active engagement across borders and industries, to build towards an innovative, sustainable solution to the problem of waste.
Hong Kong is facing the same waste crisis as South Africa, however, in Hong Kong the situation is reaching a critical point. The time has come to find a viable robust sustainable solution to the waste crisis. The exciting waste solutions under development will find a global audience at this event, with the opportunity to unpack these solutions and further develop them within the context of current technological trends. With the support of a global engagement we can unpack the steps needed to implement innovative solutions.
TOMA-Now is a young and innovative South African company with the vision of building a global network that understands the need in this critical time to act. We will foster an inclusive engagement, focusing on a global dialogue embracing cross-border cooperation.
We take the participants through several facilitated rounds to look at the relationship between waste and emerging technology trends, while unpacking the opportunities and challenges inherent in developing a viable waste economy. We base our workshop on the waste value chain and co-create impactful solutions that will empower participants to go back to their organisation with tangible outcomes.
We believe that waste is a global problem and for a sustainable solution, a global engagement is required. Part of this process is to create opportunity for exposure and potential cross-industry development through case studies and examples. As this is a curated bespoke event, networking and next stage connections are strongly supported - as are the exchange of ideas.
