About the Conference

Venue: The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shatin, Hong Kong

The urban and built environment represents both challenges and opportunities amid climate change. As the world approaches the 2-degree limit, living smart and healthy has become a priority in urban development. With the theme “Smart and Healthy within the 2-degree Limit, the conference strives to address the different facets of smart and healthy living. It is the aim of the conference to bring together designers, academics, researchers, students, and professionals in the building industry in the pursuit of a better and more sustainable urban and built environment.

Call for Extended Abstract

We invite submission of extended abstracts that address to the conference theme and focus on one of the following tracks:

  • Science and Technology
  • People and Community
  • Design and Practice
  • Education and Training

Extended abstracts can only be submitted online by 30 Nov 2017. Details are available under

Student Design Colloquium

Besides, students from local and overseas universities are also invited to share their enthusiasm exchanges and ideas on smart and healthy development through the “Student Design Colloquium” session in the conference at PLEA 2018.
