Ms Marjorie Yang
Chairman, Esquel Group

Marjorie Yang is the Chairman of Esquel Group, a leading Hong Kong-based textile and apparel manufacturer with operations throughout the world.

As a strong believer in sustainable development, Marjorie is a member of the High Level Steering Committee of UN Global Compact Action Platform on “Sustainable Infrastructure for the Belt and Road Initiative to accelerate the SDGs” and the Advisory Council of China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED).

She is the appointed representative of Hong Kong, China to APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), and a member of Chief Executive’s Council of Advisers on Innovation and Strategic Development, and serves as Chairman of the Seoul International Business Advisory Council (SIBAC), with the purpose of providing advice to the Mayor of Seoul.

Marjorie is dedicated to promoting education and innovative technologies. She is the Co-chairman of the advisory board of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL) at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Chairperson of the Steering Committee of CoolThink@JC, which is created and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. She also serves as a member of various advisory boards including Harvard University, Harvard Business School, MIT Sloan and Tsinghua University’s School of Economics.

 

 

 

Dr Daniel Yip
Managing Director, G.E.W. International Corporation Limited and Immediate Past Chairman, Federation of Hong Kong Industries

Dr Daniel Yip is the Managing Director of the G.E.W. International Corporation Limited. GEW is an electrical appliances manufacturer with both OEM, ODM and OBM business. Dr. Yip has over 35 years’ experience in the electrical appliances manufacturing industry, and holds a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master Degree in Business Administration both from Rutgers University in USA in 1987 and an Engineering Doctorate Degree from University of Warwick in 2008.  Dr Yip has been appointed Industrial Fellow from University of Warwick in 2013.  In 1999, Dr Yip received The Hong Kong Young Industrialists Award which shows the recognition of his personal achievements and commitment to the community.

Dr Daniel Yip not only makes significant contributions to his business, but also actively serves the community and social affairs, including:

Dr Matthew Man
President & Chief Executive Officer, Myndar

Dr Matthew Man is an entrepreneur, an inventor and a technology advisor with over 30 years’ experience in the high-tech industry. He is the Founder and CEO of Megasoft Ltd (branded as Myndar), a global leading provider of IoT / AI /BI technologies in healthcare, retail and critical logistics industries. Dr. Man’s visionary thinking and strong leadership have led his companies to pioneer a series of revolutionary IoT solutions which have won many major awards including Grand Award of Hong Kong ICT Awards; Grand Award of Hong Kong Awards for Industries; Gold Award of International Inventions Geneva, etc.

One of his most successful disruptive IoT solutions is “MyndCARE” for healthcare industry. Mr Erdal Elver
President and Chief Executive Officer, Siemens Limited

Mr Erdal Elver currently serves as President & CEO of Siemens Limited, leading the overall strategy in the areas of electrification, automation and digitalization and delivering sustainable solutions for infrastructure and industry in Hong Kong and Macao.

Mr Elver first joined Siemens in 1984. Prior to his current position, he served as the former President and CEO of Siemens Vietnam and held various senior management positions in Germany and China. With more than 35 years of experience working in the engineering and manufacturing industry, he has been leading the company to be a trusted technological partner and driving sustainable solutions in the field of smart infrastructure and industry. He received his Master's Degree in Computer Science from Technical University of Munich, Germany.

Ir Prof Daniel Cheng
Managing Director, Dunwell Technology (Holdings) Limited

Ir Professor Daniel M. Cheng BBS, MH, JP is Managing Director of Dunwell Enviro-Tech (Holdings) Ltd. He is a Board member of Business Environment Council, Honorary President of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries and President of the Hong Kong Environmental Industries Association. Prof Cheng is also Deputy Chairman of the Hong Kong Green Strategy Alliance and Member of the HKX Advisory Committee. For the HKSAR Government, he is serving as Member of The Chief Executive’s Council of Advisers on Innovation and Strategic Development, Member of the Committee on Innovation, Technology and Re-industrialisation, Member of the Advisory Committee on Recycling Fund, and Member of the Steering Committee on the Promotion of Electric Vehicles.

Prof Cheng has consistently contributed his professional knowledge and expertise throughout his career including as the Chairman of the Hong Kong Waste Management Association (2000–2001), the Friends of the Earth (HK) (2000-2004) and the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (Jul 2015– Jul 2017), and a member of the Advisory Committee on Water Supplies (Apr 2016 – Mar 2020), the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (Jul 2013- Jul 2017), the Hong Kong Productivity Council (2009–2015) and the Vocational Training Council (2011–2015).

Since July 2015, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University appointed Prof Cheng as Professor of Practice (Management). The University of Hong Kong also appointed Prof Cheng as Honorary Professor from 2016 - 2019 where he is currently Adjunct Professor in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering. Prof Cheng is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Engineers and a Registered Professional Engineer. He graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, U.S.A. Department of Industrial Engineering in 1981. In February 2014, Prof Cheng was inducted into the "Hall of Fame" by the California Polytechnic University-Pomona, as the first Asian Inductee.
