Business Environment Council, Civic Exchange and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology will be holding a forum to discuss the progress on climate action, the outcomes of COP23, and what is still needed to meet the goals of this Paris Agreement.

Following the landmark Paris Agreement of 2015, this year’s Conference of Parties of the UN Convention on Climate Change in Bonn, Germany, or COP23, continues to drive ambition on climate action and to develop the rulebook for implementing the agreement.

This forum will feature delegates who attended COP23 in Bonn, as well as other speakers, to discuss the following:

  • Progress made on the Paris Agreement rulebook.
  • The gap between commitments to reduce carbon emissions and what science says is needed.
  • What can be done to decarbonise electricity production and reduce energy used in property.
  • How to finance the investment needed to create a low-carbon, climate-resilient economy.
  • How insurance can help adaptation.
