As a trading hub and a well-developed city with considerable consumption levels, Hong Kong has the potential to help transform our world by contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) including Clean Water and Sanitation, Affordable and Clean Energy, Responsible Consumption and Production, and Climate Action.

Considering their critical role in global supply chains, Hong Kong businesses can help drive this transformation by adopting an expanded approach to sustainability that considers procurement and supply chain impacts. The benefits of this approach extend beyond social and environmental rewards to include risk reduction and brand value enhancement in an increasingly transparent and connected world.

In this workshop, companies that lead on sustainability will share best practices, describe their approaches and explore future trends related to sustainable supply chains and procurement. Discussion topics include how sustainability is integrated into supply chains and procurement processes; and strategies to address environmental challenges including managing the carbon footprint of products, and ensuring resilience of a supply chain facing risks such as water scarcity and other climate change impacts.

Case studies will be drawn from the apparel and construction sectors, known for their well-developed approaches to sustainable supply chains, which are of relevance to all sectors.
