About the Conference

The Greater Pearl River Delta (GPRD) Conference is an annual event composed of three cities (Hong Kong, Macao and Guangzhou) since 2010 provides a platform for researchers and practitioners to share ideas, information, experiences, new developments and future prospects in the area of building operation and maintenance. Since its first launch in 2010, this is the 3rd time the Greater Pearl River Delta (GPRD) Conference on Building Operation and Maintenance (O&M) being organized by Building Services Operation and Maintenance Executives Society (BSOMES) in Hong Kong. The conference is supported by the Department of Building Services Engineering of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU-BSE), the Macao Institution of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (AEEMM) and the South China University of Technology (華南理工大学) as co-organizers, and its main theme is “SMART Facilities Operation and Maintenance”, embracing the following sub-themes:

1. Sustainability
2. Maintainability
3. Accessibility
4. Reliability
5. Technology

The organizing committee of the Conference is cordially inviting academics, researchers, professionals and government officials to submit abstracts of papers on the above themes by 15 July 2016.

Who are the Participants?
A senior government official and an international expert are tentative keynote speakers of the Conference. Attendees are expected to be professionals in both the public and private sectors working on building operation and maintenance related areas, including consultants, contractors, services providers, suppliers/manufacturers, facility/property managers, academics and research personnel in the GPRD region.

Submissions Requirements
The abstract submission should be typed on one page of A4 in Microsoft Word format and begin with the title of paper, the name of author(s) followed by the affiliated organization(s), office address(es), email(s) and contact no.(s) of the author(s). The length of abstract is limited to 250 words together with at most five keywords. Abstracts should be submitted by email to

Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Technical Committee of the Conference, which comprises academics, researchers and specialists in the GPRD region. Upon acceptance of the abstracts, the corresponding authors will be informed by email before 15 August 2016 about the detailed format for the full paper, which shall be confined to 10 pages and submitted by 30 September 2016. Accepted papers will be published in the Conference proceedings.
