GRI Certified Training on Sustainability Reporting G4

Global Reporting Initiative (“GRI”) is one of the widely used frameworks in preparing sustainability reports to disclose organisation’s most critical impacts to the environment, society and the economy. Co-organised with SGS Hong Kong Limited, this course provides essential knowledge of GRI G4 guidelines, and introduces five phrases of GRI sustainability reporting process. It also provides a hands-on and step-by-step instruction to apply GRI G4 guidelines with interactive learning through case studies.

Comprehensive Certificate Course for BEAM Plus on Indoor Environmental Quality (“IEQ”) 2015

As one of the BEAM Plus performance categories, IEQ encompasses the conditions inside a building and their effect on occupants. Good practices in energy management are very important for reducing electricity consumption and saving costs. In Hong Kong, a voluntary Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Certificate Scheme for Offices and Public Places was implemented in order to improve the IAQ and enhance the public awareness. For quality assurance purposes, only accredited IAQ Certificate Issuing Body (CIB) is allowed to issue IAQ certificates with a Hong Kong Inspection Body Accreditation Scheme (HKIAS) accreditation mark. An accredited IAQ CIB needs to fulfill a series of requirements of the ISO/IEC 17020, HKIAS, Hong Kong Accreditation Services (HKAS) and other related standards and guidelines. This course offered a comprehensive training that IAQ CIBs need to know for managing their operation.


Technical Seminar on Application of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for the betterment of Built Environment

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) can be employed as a design and analysis tool of ventilation systems for built environment, for predicting airflow patterns, temperature and relative humidity distribution, thermal comfort parameters, and effectiveness of ventilation for indoor and outdoor spaces. This course, co-organised with ASHRAE Hong Kong Chapter, provided an introduction to the practical engineering applications of CFD stimulations, discussed how it can be employed in the analysis and optimization of HVAC designs starting at the conceptual stage and demonstrated how internal thermal loads and design of natural ventilation systems be optimized for certain climate conditions to maximize adaptive thermal comfort of occupants. This course was jointly supported by HKARCRA, AIIB, BSOMES, CIBSE, CIWEM, HKIE (BS), HKIE (Env),  HKIEMA, HKIFM, IFMA HK Chapter, Platinum and SOE HK Region.
