Connecting, Nurturing, Creating for Sustainable Environment

A Waste Reduction Guidebook for Large Scale Event Organisers

About the Guidebook

As Asia's world city, Hong Kong hosts different types of colourful and exciting events every year, ranging from cultural celebrations, festivals, entertainment, shopping, sports and dining events, during which huge amount of waste is generated. Early planning on waste management can help to minimise waste for disposal and lessen waste disposal cost after the Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Charging Scheme is in place. This Waste Reduction Guidebook aims to assist event organisers and other related stakeholders in developing strategies, plans and measures on waste reduction and recycling, with practical examples from local and overseas cases as an illustration.
