Ms Christine Loh, JP, Under Secretary for the Environment, Environment Bureau, will meet BEC members, the business community and the general public on 13 May 2014 to discuss the Future Fuel Mix for Electricity Generation Consultation Document. This last session of the BEC Policy Dialogue Series: Fuel Mix provides a unique opportunity to directly discuss with Ms Christine Loh the proposed fuel mix options, to express viewpoints and make suggestions. The results of the 2013 BEC CCBF Hong Kong Business Survey on Energy Efficiency and Climate Change will also be released at this occasion.
BEC outlined a number of fuel mix recommendations in the Submission on the 2014 Policy Address. Following this, BEC held two workshops in March 2014 for members to deliberate topics specifically focused on nuclear power, the importation of electricity from Guangdong, plus renewable and conventional generation in Hong Kong. A third members-only workshop was held in early April to focus on the fuel mix consultation document with Donald Ng from the Environment Bureau.
Special thanks for the support from the BEC Energy Advisory Group and the BEC CCBF Advisory Group for making this Policy Dialogue Series and the survey work possible.
