In the 2018 Policy Address, Chief Executive Mrs Carrie Lam unveiled the Government’s latest plan on the development of Lantau Island. The Lantau Tomorrow Vision (LTV) was then promulgated to harness the potential of Lantau to becoming a double gateway to Greater Bay Area and the world; a sustainable living and working environment for Hong Kong people; an economic powerhouse and the third Core Business District for Hong Kong; an attractive leisure and entertainment destination for locals and visitors; and an opportunity to enhance sustainability and conservation.

Since its promulgation, LTV has attracted the interest of different sectors of society regarding, among others, the scale of the reclamation, the financial requirements of the project, the environmental implications of LTV, and how to make the plan climate-proof. At this Policy Dialogue Series event, BEC members will have an opportunity to understand the project firsthand from Mr Robin K. B. Lee, Principal Project Coordinator of the Sustainable Lantau Office, and to engage in face-to-face dialogue with Mr Lee on this important topic.
