BEC Leadership Networking Series is a regular networking event for business leaders and sustainability practitioners to network and share their insights in an open and relaxed atmosphere. Come join us in the upcoming session, where you could mingle and meet with other BEC members and like-minded industry players. We hope to see you there!
Sustainable Consumption and Production |
Mr Prashant Vaze, Chief Planning & Trade Practices Officer, Consumer Council
Consumers have a major role to play in realising sustainability for the world. The Consumer Council promotes sustainable consumption and production through testing performance of products, publicising actionable advice to consumers, responding to consultations and undertaking studies. Mr Prashant Vaze will share the research result of consumer attitudes to purchasing sustainable goods/services and how a good labelling system can help consumers use their purchasing power effectively using examples of existing green labels found in Hong Kong. |
Promoting Green Procurement |
Mr Hon-Meng WONG, Assistant Director (Waste Reduction & Recycling), Environmental Protection Department, Hong Kong SAR Government
As early as year 2000, the HKSAR Government updated its procurement practices to require bureaux and departments to take into account environmental considerations when procuring goods and services.
