Chief Executive Mrs Carrie Lam announced her latest Policy Address on 16 October 2019. Several new initiatives have been proposed to further improve Hong Kong’s environment. On 5 November 2019 (Tuesday), BEC will organise a public event for BEC members and the wider business community to understand and discuss the latest environmental policy initiatives included in the Policy Address. BEC is honoured to have Mr C.W. Tse, Under Secretary for the Environment, to provide a first-hand update of the new policies and initiatives related to environmental protection and sustainable development. Mr Tse will also participate in an open dialogue with BEC Board Directors, business leaders and other event participants.
In August 2019, BEC submitted a series of policy recommendations to inform the Chief Executive’s Policy Address in key areas such as climate change and decarbonisation, circular economy, and sustainable living environment. BEC’s written submission can be found here.
We welcome all BEC members and those who are interested to sign up to this Policy Dialogue Series event – to understand the Government’s latest policy direction on the environment, to discuss environmental issues pertinent to Hong Kong, and to express views and opinions on these important issues from the business perspective.
