The BEC Low Carbon Charter was launched in March 2019 as a timely response to the development of Hong Kong’s long-term decarbonisation strategy. During the first year, 34 companies from the property and construction value chain signed on to the Charter and committed to setting and achieving carbon reduction targets. Since the beginning of 2020, the Charter has expanded to welcome companies across all sectors. As of mid-April, 30 new signatories have joined the Charter, bringing the total number to 64.
To mark the first anniversary of the Charter, this webinar will celebrate the progress and achievements of the current signatories and announce new signatories who have agreed to join us in this journey. We have invited Mr C.W. Tse, Under Secretary for the Environment, as our guest-of-honour. We will also hear from Mr M.K. Leung of Ronald Lu & Partners (Hong Kong) Limited and Mr Bobby Chau of Shiu Wing Steel Limited, who will share their insights on setting targets, developing and operationalising strategic decarbonisation plans, as well as the lessons learnt in their decarbonisation journey thus far.
