About
Malaysia plays a key role in the Belt and Road Initiative as one of ASEAN’s earliest partners, and has committed to green transformation through frameworks like the New Industrial Master Plan 2030, 13th Malaysia Plan and National Energy Transition Roadmap, demonstrating strong progress towards achieving the net-zero goals.
Against this backdrop, Business Environment Council (“BEC”) will be organising the four-day Green Development Mission to Kuala Lumpur and nearby cities from 2 to 5 June 2026. This exclusive visit will connect Hong Kong business leaders with the Malaysian government and Malaysia’s vibrant sustainability ecosystem, fostering partnerships in green technologies, energy transition, nature and sustainable urban development.
Activity highlights:
- Meeting with Malaysian government offices, including the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry
- Visit to Cyberjaya, a planned city known as the Silicon Valley of Malaysia, to engage with Cyberview and green tech companies
- Roundtable and networking session with UN Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei - the Malaysia and Brunei Chapter of the United Nations Global Compact, the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world
- Visit to PETRONAS, a dynamic global energy group with international operations
- Participation in ENERtec Asia Exhibition - Southeast Asia’s premier event focused on ESG and energy transition, with an optional Energy Transition Conference (“ETCon”) add-on
