Mr Charles Ng Mr Charles Ng heads the Sector Specialists Group helping overseas and mainland companies to establish or expand their business presence in Hong Kong. The nine Sector Specialist Teams under his purview are grouped under three Clusters: (a) Technology, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, (b) Fintech, Financial & Professional Services and (c) Lifestyle & Creative Industries. Mr Ng also oversees Carbon Neutrality which cuts across all sectors. The teams offer a one stop service to help startups, scale ups, small medium enterprises and multinational corporations tap into the opportunities Hong Kong, the Guangdong, Hong Kong Macau Greater Bay Area, the mainland and Asia have to offer to grow their business. Mr Ng has worked for companies in the manufacturing, trading and financial services and banking sectors in Mauritius, Canada and Hong Kong. He speaks six languages and dialects and holds an MBA degree awarded jointly by the Business School of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University.

Dr William Joyce Will is Innovation Lead for a £210 million UKRI programme, the Industrial Decarbonisation Challenge. This programme supports the development of significant ‘first-of-a-kind’ projects decarbonising UK industrial clusters. Core technologies funded through this programme include low-carbon hydrogen and carbon capture and storage. Prior to this, Will founded an award-winning spin-out from Imperial College London. Will holds a First Class degree and PhD in Chemistry from Imperial, working with the Grantham Institute for Climate Change.

Mr Erdal Elver Mr Erdal Elver currently serves as President & CEO of Siemens Limited, leading the overall strategy in the areas of electrification, automation and digitalization and delivering sustainable solutions for infrastructure and industry in Hong Kong and Macao. Mr Elver first joined Siemens in 1984. Prior to his current position, he served as the former President and CEO of Siemens Vietnam and held various senior management positions in Germany and China. With more than 35 years of experience working in the engineering and manufacturing industry, he has been leading the company to be a trusted technological partner and driving sustainable solutions in the field of smart infrastructure and industry. He received his Master's Degree on Computer Science from Technical University of Munich, Germany.

Prof Davis Bookhart Davis Bookhart is the founding director of HKUST’s Sustainability / Net-Zero Office, which is responsible for implementing the university’s comprehensive sustainability master plan across operations, research, and academics. The Office houses the Life-Cycle Lab, the Sustainable Smart Campus as a Living Lab initiative, and the Jockey Club Sustainable Campus Consumer Programme, which extends to all eight universities in the HK Sustainable campus Consortium. Bookhart also teaches classes on sustainability management and sustainability thinking, both of which develop skills and mental frameworks for solving complex 21st century problems. Bookhart came to HKUST after eight years as the founding director of the Office of Sustainability at Johns Hopkins University, following a role as senior project director of the Consumer Energy Council of America. Bookhart holds a master’s degree in International Affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and a master’s of American Literature from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

Ir Kenny Wong Ir Kenny Wong is the Head of Carbon and Environmental Excellence Unit in the Hong Kong Productivity Council. Ir Wong has over 25 years of experience in environmental management and technologies research and development, with expertise in energy and carbon, waste management, corporate sustainability; and has been leading design and implementation of cleaner production systems for various types of trades and industries, R&D & commercialization of environmental and automotive technologies. Ir Wong also has extensive experience in leading public policy research and studies; development and implementation, as well as stakeholders’ engagement on policies and initiatives of government and corporations. Ir Wong possesses many professional qualifications and is enthusiastic in providing community services to various sectors, e.g. he served as the Chairman of the Hong Kong Waste Management Association, Chairman of Environmental Division of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, a member of the Advisory Committee on Water Resources and Quality of Water Supplies for the HKSAR Government, etc.

Mr Sandro Desideri Sandro Desideri is an expert in Energy Transition and the co-founder of Link4Success Ltd, an Hong Kong firm focused on Energy projects oriented to High Efficiency and Net Zero achievements. Link4Success is cooperating and consulting with VPower Group, GE Energy, Energy Exemplar, SNAM, Ansaldo, and many other enterprises providing specific Technical Studies, Net Zero Roadmapping Advisory as well as Go To Market studies. Also a Representative for GBA and SEAsia of Baker Hughes, Value Added Resellers of VPower Gensets, Sales Representative of Brush PD. Sandro is currently also supporting the following roles : • Co-CEO of IET (Ianus Energy Transition) Pte Ltd, a JV with Link4success focused on Energy Transition and Green H2 • Senior Advisor of Carbonless, innovation and investment platform dedicated to decarbonization • MD of IS Clean Air Asia Ltd, Air Purification systems • Senior Advisor of Skyrenewable Ltd), a start up focused on WtE and Biomass Sandro has been the Head of the Green Technology Cluster in HKSTP supporting start-ups and anchor companies in generating a Smart City platform where to commercialize and industrialize innovations in the Smart Energy, Smart Resources, Smart Buildings and Clean Tech sectors. Sandro has been working for General Electric for 22 years in different executive positions around the world (Italy, Houston, Singapore, Melbourne, Hong Kong), in the Power Gen, Energy Services and Oil & Gas divisions of GE. Sandro graduated in 1990 with a Master of Science degree (Dr. Ing) in Electronic Engineering from the University of Florence, is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers in several countries and of many Energy and Smart City technical and professional associations. |

Moderator
Ir Dr Shelley Zhou Shelley holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the National University of Singapore and a Master of Philosophy degree in Civil Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). Shelley opened a carbon management course in 2010 and currently is the Adjunct Associate Professor at HKUST. Ir Dr Zhou, a dedicated sustainability professional, has over 18 years’ experience in corporate sustainability, environmental and carbon management consultancy, new energy and biotechnology in Hong Kong, China and Singapore. Ir Dr Zhou currently leads ESG services in APAC for Capco. As the first batch of carbon consultant, Shelley has led and delivered numerous carbon consultancy project, covering government, banking, financial service, real estate and retail sectors. Ir Dr Zhou actively engages with non-governmental organizations and professional associations. She is currently the Chair of the Hong Kong Institute of Engineers (HKIE) Environmental Division and Director of the Hong Kong Association of Energy Engineers (HKAEE). Previously, Shelley was the President of the Association of Energy Engineers (Hong Kong Chapter), a member of HKSAR Government’s Environmental Campaign Committee Environmental Education and Community Action Projects Vetting Sub-committee (2014-2019), a co-opt member of the Hong Kong Green Building Council Public Education, and a core member of the Hong Kong delegation to COP13 held by the UNFCCC in Bali in 2007.
