This report focuses on four sectors in which the Group has operating business, namely “Insurance”, “Logistics”, “Construction”, and “Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) and Event Management”, to provide insights into the latest developments in climate action across various industries in Hong Kong.
The research involved engaging industry experts in focus group discussions to understand the challenges and opportunities faced by the industry in climate transition. The report covers the current situation of the climate action, measures, policies, regulations, as well as the challenges encountered among the industries. Through a multi-dimensional analysis and industry comparison, the report identifies key actions that facilitate the formulation of effective transformation strategies, resource allocation, and the enhancement of resilience against potential risks.
The research findings reveal that the four sectors are progressing at different paces in climate transition journeys, with unique challenges to address. Overall, industry’s awareness of climate action, relevant policies & guidelines, operational costs, technological maturity, and application are identified as key factors driving the transformation towards a low-carbon future. The report recommends that statutory bodies and industry stakeholders need to strengthen their communication and collaborative efforts to develop and implement concrete policy measures, and work together to turn challenges into opportunities.
