In 2050, the world will be different—vastly different. Reducing emissions to achieve a net-zero future will require supportive policy, technology innovation, and market incentives to drive faster deployment of all available solutions.
BEC organised a technical seminar that welcomed Ms. Monica Muzny and Mr. Vineet Malik, international energy experts from ExxonMobil. They shared their perspectives on energy demand, supply, and trends worldwide and in China through 2050 with BEC members. They also discussed the various solutions for providing the energy and products the world needed during its transition while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Ms Monica Muzny Monica Muzny is an Energy Demand Advisor in Exxon Mobil’s Economics and Energy Division. In her role, she works with a team of individuals to analyse global market fundamentals, economic trends, technology advancements, consumer behaviour and climate-related public policy to project the most likely view of the world energy demand and how that will contribute to global emissions. Her regions of focus include Asia Pacific and the Middle East. Ms Muzny has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas A&M. She joined ExxonMobil as an engineer in 2011 and has progressed through several roles, including technology development, project execution, production operations, and leadership over the last 10+ years.

Mr Vineet Malik Vineet Malik is a Global Market Advisor in ExxonMobil’s Industry Gas Outlook Division. In his role, he works with a team of individuals to analyse global market fundamentals, Gas/LNG supply options including domestic gas production, pipeline imports and LNG Imports to develop the most likely view of the global gas demand supply balance. His region of focus is Asia Pacific. Mr Malik has a degree in Commerce and Finance from the University of Delhi, India. He joined ExxonMobil as an Analyst in 1999 and has progressed through several roles, including business analyst, LNG business developer, LNG supply planner, LNG marketing, business planning, and leadership over the last 20+ years.
