About BEC Net-zero Carbon Charter

In March 2023, BEC launched the Net-zero Carbon Charter (“the Charter”) to encourage companies and organisations to unite in pursuit of Hong Kong's long-term decarbonisation goals. By committing to establish targets and implement strategies for a net-zero future, participants play a critical role in this collective effort. As of May 2025, the Charter has attracted 90 signatories, including 25 Science-aligned Signatories and 65 Action Signatories, demonstrating its growing influence. To support these initiatives, BEC is committed to organising regular events that assist signatories and businesses in setting, implementing, and achieving their emission reduction targets, thereby fostering a coordinated and effective approach to sustainability.

About Event

BEC Net-zero Carbon Charter Annual Event, themed “Unlocking Strategies for Climate Risk Management and Communication”, was a key platform for showcasing the Charter’s progress and facilitating dialogue among business leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders on pathways to a low-carbon, resilient future. The event presented recent developments, insights from Charter Impact Annual Questionnaire on local decarbonisation trends and measure collective progress toward net-zero ambitions. Additionally, the event explored the vital role of effective climate communication and stakeholder engagement in driving climate action. Recognising that climate disclosure and communication were closely interconnected, findings from the Climate Change Business Forum Advisory Group (“CCBF AG”)’s study on climate communication were integrated to foster collaboration, inspire practical decarbonisation strategies, and advance collective efforts toward a sustainable economy.
