Business Environment Council Welcomes New CEO

Hong Kong, 29 February 2016 -Business Environment Council Limited 商界環保協會有限公司 (“BEC”) has announced the appointment of Mrs Christine Cheung as its Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1 March 2016, succeeding Ms Agnes Li who retired in January 2016.

BEC Chairman Prof John Chai said, “Christine brings with her a wealth of business and management experience.  I am confident that she will help BEC to achieve great success in deploying BEC’s strategies and furthering our core attributes.  We look forward to Christine’s leadership as BEC continues to collaborate with the Government, business sector and fellow partners on advancing businesses in practising and enabling environmental protection, and in contributing to the transition to a low carbon economy.”

Mrs Cheung is an innovative, hands-on and driven leader with over 20 years of experience in the private sector.  Prior to joining BEC, she has spent 13 years with an international company in various operational capacities. Her expertise spans across branding, financial management, operational management, corporate governance, organisational development, M&A integration, policy implementation, talent strategy, operational & strategic planning and corporate transformation.

Mrs Cheung holds a Master of Business Administration from a joint program of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Business School and Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management, USA and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Finance from San Diego State University, USA.
