BEC IEE Training Courses
BEC Institute for Environmental Education ("BEC IEE") will organise various environmental training courses from September to November 2015 as follows:
Towards Sustainability – Sustainable Building Management (11 September 2015) – Effective sustainable property management practices are very important for maximising energy and water use efficiency in both new and existing buildings. This course offers up-to-date information and best practices on sustainable building management.
The Application and Regulation of Environmental Impact Assessment (“EIA”) and Strategic Environmental Assessment (“SEA”) in Hong Kong (9 October 2015) –EIA is an essential process to ensure that environmental factors are considered in every stage of project planning and development. The EIA Ordinance provides the legal framework for applying the EIA process to designated projects in Hong Kong. With a higher level of public scrutiny and increasing use of judicial reviews to challenge the EIA process, what will be the future development of EIA? The course aims to keep the business sector abreast of essential knowledge of EIA, SEA, and related statutory requirements in Hong Kong.
Towards Sustainability – Best Practice for Sustainable Procurement (6 November 2015) – Sustainable procurement is the process of buying goods and services of a business in a way that meets the needs of the business while brings benefits to the environment at the same time. Sustainable procurement has become one of the key components among businesses in achieving sustainability. The course is suitable for those who are responsible for procurement policy as well as those who engage in procurement on a day-to-day basis.
