The BEC Low Carbon Charter has mobilised 71 companies and organisations across all sectors in Hong Kong in pledging to set and achieve decarbonisation targets towards a sustainable and low carbon future since its launch in March 2019. Most companies would choose to focus on reducing their scope 1 and 2 emissions at the beginning of their decarbonisation journey. However, in order to limit global average temperature rise within 2°C to avoid the worst and irreversible effects of climate change, there is a mounting urgency for companies to also decarbonise their value chains, especially for companies with a substantial part of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions lie outside their own operations.
Scope 3 emission is more complex, so where do you start? How do you set a robust yet achievable scope 3 target, and how do you engage with your business partners to decarbonise? The webinar will feature an introduction on scope 3 emissions. Industry peers will share experience and best practice on value chain decarbonisation. Topics like scope 3 target-setting and emission reduction, as well as stakeholder engagement will be discussed during the session.
If you wish to achieve deeper decarbonisation or know more about value chain decarbonisation, come join us and take part in the discussion.
