“BEC Policy Dialogue Series: 2016 Policy Address” aims to offer a platform for our members to understand more about the Chief Executive’s 2016 policy direction, express views from the perspective of the business sector, and further explore areas of mutual interest in order to promote Hong Kong’s sustainable development and drive Hong Kong towards a low carbon economy.
Following Part I of BEC Policy Dialogue Series on 2016 Policy Address with Mr KS Wong held on 18 January 2016, BEC is presenting Part II of BEC Policy Dialogue Series on 2016 Policy Address with Mr Eric Ma, Under Secretary for Development, on 20 January 2016. Mr Eric Ma will visit BEC Headquarters to elaborate policies under the purview of the Development Bureau (“DEVB”) in 2016 Policy Address, and exchange views and opinions with members. BEC is pleased to have Hong Kong Green Building Council Limited (“HKGBC”) and BEAM Society Limited (“BSL”) as the co-organisers.
In November 2015, BEC submitted a paper to the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR Government, which outlined in detail our policy recommendations on further enhancing Hong Kong’s environment and sustainability. Our Policy Address submission has covered BEC’s core advocacy areas: climate change; energy policy; transport and logistics; waste management; natural capital including biodiversity, water and air; green business and finance; environmental, social and governance reporting and performance; and the Harbourfront Authority. This paper is available on BEC website.
