Energy Savings and Improvements of IAQ in Buildings – Optimization of Ventilation Systems |
Mr KK Wu, General Manager, DEOS China Limited
Ventilation improvements are one of the common options to reduce indoor air pollutants and control indoor temperature, resulting in improvements of the indoor air quality (“IAQ”) within a building. Besides natural ventilation, outdoor air can also be introduced by mechanical means, such as heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system. However, this results in higher energy consumption for the system. Inevitably, building owners are facing the challenge of striking a balance between reducing energy cost and improving IAQ. In his presentation, Mr Wu will introduce possible solutions to improve IAQ with intelligent control strategies, developed by DEOS AG (www.deos-ag.com), while reducing the energy consumption at the same time. He will also share real-life cases to elaborate how the solution bring benefits to building owners. |
Energy Optimization Solution in HVAC Installation – Case Sharing |
Ir Antonio Chan, Director of Hong Kong Green Building Council and Executive Director of REC Engineering Company Limited
90% of the electricity consumption in Hong Kong is accounted by buildings and 60% of such energy consumption is because of air-conditioning system. Conventional building management system has provided the necessary operation schedules and under different operation mode for monitoring and control, but not optimized. In his presentation, Ir Chan will introduce the latest energy optimization solution for HVAC System that has been implemented in a project successfully with a more than target energy saving achieved by continuously searching for energy saving opportunities automatically. He will also compare the conventional building management and this successfully implemented energy optimization solution against conventional building management system and its advantage. |
