While you are planning your next holiday, you may think about embarking on an eco-tour. But before you select your destinations, do you fully understand what ecotourism means? What are the essential elements of an eco-tour?

Australia is one of the top destinations for ecotourism. Mr Johnny Nee, a travel industry veteran and Director International Marketing (North Asia) of Tourism Western Australia will give you a glimpse of Western Australia’s natural beauty, and share with us how Western Australia unleashes economic potential of eco-holidays, and the national marketing strategy of the Australian government.

Also joining this gathering is Mr August Tiu, a registered architect and Head of Project, The Baroque On Lamma who will introduce his low carbon resort masterplan, and the challenges and opportunities of developing ecotourism in Hong Kong.

Last but not least is Ms Lisa Christensen, Editor-in-Chief, Founder and CEO of Ecozine and Refined Travellers and a pioneer in sustainable travel movement, who will share with you valuable insider insights about the latest global trend of ecotourism, destinations with best practices, and as travellers how we can make our holidays more sustainable.

Speakers

Australia’s economy benefits significantly from tourism through generating jobs, investment and growth in communities throughout Australia. How the Australian & their state governments set a national marketing strategy to grow the tourism industry and to introduce natural environments and eco-holidays that foster environmental and cultural understanding & appreciation of our natural habitats.

Mr Johnny Nee joined the Western Australian Tourism Commission in 2013, promoting Western Australia as an extraordinary holiday and event destination for sport, art, cultural and business events. Mr Nee has previously worked for Tourism Australia for 19 years and was the Regional General Manager, North Asia and Chief Representative China.
