Since the ratification of the Paris Agreement, countries and businesses across the globe have agreed on the mission of reducing carbon emissions with the goal of transforming to a net zero carbon future in the second half of the century. The faster they can start reducing net emissions, the less sharp the shift will need to be in the longer term. But making substantial changes in Hong Kong in the short term and in the longer term through the primary measures can be costly and challenging.

But making substantial changes in Hong Kong in the short term and in the longer term through the primary measures, such as decarbonising the grid and enhancing energy efficiency, can be costly and challenging. This raises questions as to whether carbon off-setting can be part of the answer, at least for some sectors in the immediate future and in years to come.

This seminar will help develop your understanding of the potential from carbon offsetting for your business, and explore the different offset schemes and options on the market. Three speakers will present and take part in a panel discussion session on this important topic.

Speakers/ Panelists:

  • Jeanne Ng, ‎Director - Group Sustainability, CLP Power Hong Kong
  • Yee Chow, Manager - Environmental Affairs, Cathay Pacific Airways
  • Jude Wu, Managing Director, Conservation International Hong Kong
