Paris, renowned as one of the world's leading sustainable cities, hosted the most sustainable Olympics last year. To explore the post-Olympic planning of the city, as well as its green buildings, waste management initiatives, innovative sustainable technologies, and to exchanges ideas with local experts, BEC is organising the Sustainable City Lights: BEC Paris Tour from 18 to 24 May 2025.
Itinerary
Day 1: Sunday, 18 May 2025
- Welcome lunch in Paris and hotel check in
Day 2: Monday, 19 May 2025
- Meeting with the Sustainable City Task Force of the Mouvement des Entreprises de France (“MEDEF”), the largest business association in France, to exchange ideas between France and Hong Kong.
- Engagement with the Olympic Delivery Authority (Société de Livraison des Ouvrages Olympiques, “SOLIDEO”): Learn about their experiences and challenges in preparing for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
- Visit to Olympic facilities including the Paris Adidas Arena, the Olympic Athletes Village and more, guided by representatives from SOLIDEO.
Day 3: Tuesday, 20 May 2025
- Visit to Notre-Dame de Paris: Learn about the five-year restoration journey of this iconic landmark, which was reopened in December 2024.
- Meet the LVMH Group at Vallée de la Millière: Discover the group’s LIFE 360 strategy in a 30-hectare biodiversity haven, just under an hour’s drive from Paris.
- Visit to LVHM’s iconic Sephora Champs-Elysées store, recently renovated with a variety of environmental and sustainability features.
Day 4: Wednesday, 21 May 2025
- Visit to Veolia’s Monthyon Waste-to-Energy Plant and Mery sur Oise Drinking Water Treatment Plant: Understand the technologies and operations supporting the daily lives of Parisians.
- A short visit to Vincent van Gogh’s stay in Auvers sur Oise, where he spent the last months of his life.
Day 5: Thursday, 22 May 2025
- Visit to Saint-Gobain Tower: Experience interactive terminals in its showroom, delve into Saint-Gobain’s 360-year history and achievements.
- Take a tour of La Défense, the largest business district in Europe, with the Saint-Gobain team.
- A Networking lunch and interactive guided tour at Schneider Electric’s Innovation Hub: Discover the latest sustainability and efficiency technologies and enjoy a networking lunch with experts.
Day 6: Friday, 23 May 2025
- Visit to SUEZ's Le Pecq Drinking Water Plant: Explore how the plant support SUEZ to deal with water stress and the commitment to sustainability.
- Lunch and learn session with PALO IT: Insights on the latest sustainability trends in France and how tech integrates into sustainability.
Day 7: Saturday, 24 May 2025
- Flight to Hong Kong
