[RERUN] BEC Industry Visit: Driving Decarbonisation in the Container Terminal Industry

BEC is rerunning the industry visit to terminal facilities operated by our Council Member Modern Terminals Limited. Join us on 2 June (Friday) to visit the city’s first purpose-built container terminal.

Throughout the past 50 years, Modern Terminals has achieved a lot of milestones in environmental protection. The terminal operator successfully exceeded its 10-year decarbonisation target in 2018 by achieving an emission intensity of less than 10 kg CO₂e per twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU), a reduction of more than 30%. Besides, it has established a comprehensive Sustainability Strategy with long-term goals to eliminate direct greenhouse gas emissions in its operations by 2030 and to become carbon neutral by 2050.
