The BEC Net-zero Carbon Charter annual event was held on 4 March 2024 (Monday). During the annual event, we shared the latest developments of the BEC Net-zero Carbon Charter and the initial analysis from responses to the Charter questionnaires.

We also invited representatives from CDP to share insights on the current CDP disclosure cycle for 2023, and users shared their experiences in responding to the BEC Carbon Disclosure Programme, which was supported by HSBC.

Speakers 

Mr Bruno Leung
Account Manager, CDP

As an Account Manager at CDP, Mr. Leung supports organizations across the APAC region in advancing their sustainability efforts. He provides practical advice to guide organizations through the CDP disclosure process and offers expertise in engaging suppliers on reducing environmental impacts. Mr Leung works with various industry leaders from different markets, which has given him invaluable perspectives on decarbonization trends worldwide. Prior to joining CDP, he worked at a local consultancy, providing internal auditing and ESG advisory service. 


 

 

Mr Eddie Tse
Group Sustainability Manager, Gammon Construction 

Eddie has more than 26 years experience in construction and environmental field and specializes in sediment and land contamination assessment and remediation, carbon/energy management, renewable energy projects and waste/asbestos management. In Gammon, He has been involved in a number of infrastructure and building projects such as road and drainage, site formation and land decontamination, railway, power plant emission control facility, tunnel and rock cavern and Tamar development. 

He is the vice chairman of Environment Committee, Hong Kong Construction Association and member of Climate Change Business Forum of the Business Environment Council. He is appointed as a construction advisor in development of Construction Industry Council Carbon Assessment Tool and Sustainable Finance Certification scheme.  He is also appointed by Environment Bureau and Hong Kong Green Building Council to be a member of Working Group for the Review of the Air Quality Objectives and a co-opted member of Climate Change Framework for Building & Construction Expert Group under Sustainable Development Committee respectively. 

Eddie graduated from the Department of Chemical Engineering from the University of British Columbia in Canada, and has a Master of Science (Major in Environmental Engineering) degree from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. 

Eddie is a Fellow member of the Hong Kong Institute of Qualified Environmental Professionals, Certified Carbon Auditor (Cement/Steel/Concrete) under the CIC Green Product Certification Scheme, Certified Energy Manager/Carbon Audit Professional of US Association of Energy Engineer and a Qualified Project Assessor of BREEAM Infrastructure (formerly CEEQUAL, UK BRE).  He is also a CIC Sustainable Finance Certification Scheme Assessor and a Certified ESG Analyst CESGA® of The European Federation of Financial Analysts Societies.


 

 

Ms Yvonne Ieong
Associate Director (Sustainability), Leigh & Orange Ltd.

Yvonne graduated from University of Michigan, for her Master Degree of Architecture and MSc of Sustainable and Environmental Design in CUHK. She is a Registered Architect in HK & Macau, PRC Class 1 Registered Architect qualification, member of Green Building & Energy Saving Committee in Chinese Society for Urban Studies. 

She strives to combat climate change through her work. Several local and oversea green interior awards were gained for her projects. She has been participating numerous pro Bono service on Green Building promotion, Green Building Labelling Assessment development, countryside development and community work in HKGBC, BSL, HKIA and other NGOs. She was the Director of HKGBC and BSL, the past Material Aspect Chair in BSL, and is member of GB Faculty (MA, SA, CEM). Currently, she is Council member and the Chairlady of Environment and Sustainability Development Committee of Hong Kong Institute of Architects.


 

 

Mr MK Leung
Director of Sustainable Design, Ronald Lu & Partners

MK Leung is Director of Sustainable Design of Ronald Lu & Partners (RLP Asia), and Principal Behaviourist of RLP Asia’s insight partner, Behave. His team has delivered numerous high-profile projects, including CIC - Zero Carbon Park, a vertical campus for THEi, Treehouse – the firm’s winning entry in the inaugural Advancing Net Zero Ideas Competition, and many consultancy studies on lowenergy residential building design, infrastructure design and construction under extreme temperatures, sponge city design, and others. MK was awarded SIA-Uniseal G-Architect Laureate in 2014 by the Singapore Institute of Architects. He has been recognised around the world for his specialised knowledge and integrated skills in sustainable, net-zero building design projects.
