To continuously drive business actions and maximise impact over the identified Environmental Focus Areas, BEC runs specific Advisory Groups ("AGs") as platforms for member engagement and contribution on thought leadership, policy advocacy, idea dissemination and exchange. Four specific AGs are established for the upcoming term 1 October 2025 – 30 September 2027:

BEC Climate Change Business Forum Advisory Group
Focuses on overarching climate strategy, policy, corporate target-setting (e.g., Science Based Targets initiative), climate governance, and carbon market policies. Its work programmes mainly supports member preparedness for carbon pricing regulations, navigates climate disclosure rules, facilitates transition planning, promotes best practices in climate risk assessment, and advocates for cross-sectoral climate policies

BEC Energy Transition Advisory Group
Concentrates on the practical implementation of energy transition strategies across key sectors (built environment, transport, energy systems), ensuring an equitable transition for all stakeholders. Its work programmes address building energy efficiency, accelerates transport electrification, supports low-carbon fuel adoption, facilitates grid modernization discussions, and explores inclusive energy transition pathways.

BEC Circular Economy Advisory Group
Promotes circularity principles, waste reduction, resource efficiency, and circular business models. Its work programmes are to help businesses navigate upcoming Producer Responsibility Schemes, develop strategies for waste reduction, promote circular solutions in various sectors, and share best practices in eco-design.

Focuses on promoting the climate-nature nexus, nature-related corporate action and mainstreaming the integration of biodiversity considerations into business and financial decision-making. Work areas include developing thought leadership and engaging in policy influence on nature, capacity building on nature-related disclosure, exploring the feasibility of nature-based solutions and driving multi-stakeholder biodiversity initiatives.
