Mr Thomas Deloison
Director, Mobility at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development

Thomas Deloison leads the mobility work at WBCSD, a CEO-led organization of over 200 leading businesses working together to accelerate the transition to a sustainable world. Before that, he held various roles for Nissan in product strategy, marketing strategy, vehicle program management and corporate strategy in Europe.

Mr Ivan Chung, JP
Deputy Director of Planning/Territorial, HKSAR Government

Mr Chung joined the Hong Kong Government as an Assistant Town Planner in 1989 and has been involved in new towns, district planning, strategic planning, urban renewal, major development projects, and planning and engineering studies over the years.  He was posted to the Development Bureau from 2015 to 2018 during which he had been involved in the implementation of the Kwu Tung North and Fanling North New Development Areas, and the Hong Kong/Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park at Lok Ma Chau Loop.  At present, he is the Deputy Director of Planning/Territorial of the Planning Department overseeing Hong Kong 2030+ (updating of the territorial development strategy), cross-boundary planning, Lantau development and various planning studies.  He also supervises the central technical services for the Department.

Mr Steve Yiu
Principal Advisor, Property Planning, MTR Corporation

Mr Steve Yiu was Head of Town Planning of MTR Corporation and has over 20 years’ practical experience in initiating and managing the Corporation’s property development planning for integrated transit-oriented developments under Hong Kong’s unique “rail-plus-property” model. The approach is a leading international example of how land value capture can be effectively applied to fund expensive railway projects and at the same time build people-oriented communities.

He was involved in a number of major integrated projects, some of which are large and complex by world standards, including the 1.1 million sq.m. mega complex of mixed uses at Airport Express Line Kowloon Station and the 32 ha LOHAS Park built above the railway depot of Tseung Kwan O Line, providing homes to some 70,000 people.

In addition to his planning work, he also participated in a number of research studies which help to analyse Hong Kong’s experience and share it with the local and international audience on how railways can be integrated into the urban fabric to make cities more sustainable.

In July 2017, he retired from the position of Head of Town Planning and was appointed as Principal Advisor - Property Planning to provide strategic support and advice on the company’s local and international property business.

Mr Constant Van Aerschot
Director, Asia Pacific, World Business Council for Sustainable Development

Constant leads WBCSD’s Asia Pacific regional office in Singapore. He is a sustainability and construction sector expert. He supervises projects and helps member companies in Asia learn and adopt latest sustainability thinking, methodologies and tools into business strategy and operations.

Constant is on the board of two non-profit organisations, a regular speaker at events and judge for sustainability awards. He is an editorial advisor to Singapore National Environment Agency and senior expert at GBPN, a building-policy think tank.

Prior to this, he was VP Foresight at Lafarge in Paris, senior corporate strategy analyst at Alcatel, and a practicing civil engineer in Switzerland, Germany and in the UK, mainly for ARUP. He holds a master’s in civil engineering (ETHZ, Switzerland), an MBA (Cranfield University, UK) and a diploma in Directorship (SMU, Singapore).

Mr Simon Ng
Director, Policy & Research, Business Environment Council

Mr Simon Ng is Director – Policy & Research of Business Environment Council. He is responsible for BEC’s work on policy advocacy, thought leadership development, and collaborative research on various environmental issues that BEC focuses on. Trained as a geographer, Mr Ng is known for his ground-breaking work on ship emissions inventory in Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta in which his collaboration with the shipping industry led to the launch of the Fair Winds Charter. He is also well regarded for his research and engagement work on walkability.
 
Mr Ng has over 20 years of experience in academic/policy research, project management and stakeholder's engagement. Before joining BEC, he was Chief Research Officer of a leading independent public policy think tank and was a visiting scholar of a top university in Hong Kong.
 
Mr Ng is also a member of many professional bodies of transport & logistics and environmental management. Internationally, Mr Ng is an Expert Member of the UNCRD Regional Environmentally Sustainable Transport Forum in Asia since 2006.
