Mr Daniel Weitze
Mr Daniel Weitze (Head of Digital Mobility) is designing digital futures. Improve the quality of life of mankind, on our planet and beyond, with sustainable and convenient mobility solutions.
Since August 2018 – after gaining 15 years of experience in transportation around the globe (Europe, North and South America, Asia) in several positions* – Mr Weitze is leading the Digital Mobility department of Siemens Mobility Ltd. in Hong Kong.
His open mind for new solutions and business models, combined with a broad experience in business management, R&D, product management, operations, sales and consultancy, is setting the foundation for exciting discussions and sharing of results around human centric business.
Mr Charles So
Charles is a Chartered Engineer with over 30 years of experiences in traffic and transport planning and transport system development. Currently he is the Transport Advisor of Project Management Department of Sun Hung Kai Real Estate Agency Limited. Prior to that, Charles was the Executive Director of AECOM Asia Company Ltd. overseeing the Traffic & Transport Division in Hong Kong and South East Asia. Charles graduated with a BSc in Civil Engineering at University of Southampton, UK and obtained his Master degree in Transportation at University of British Columbia, Canada.
Charles has been serving different committees and professional bodies over the years. Charles is the current Chairman of Smart Mobility Committee of Smart City Consortium (SCC); President of Intelligent Transportation Systems Hong Kong (ITS-HK); and Treasurer of Logistics & Transportation Division of Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE). He is also a member of Departmental Advisory Committee of Electrical Engineering Department of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Appeal Tribunal Panel (Buildings), Review Panel under the Land (Miscellaneous Provisions) Ordinance and Task Force on the Smart Traffic Fund.
Ms Yuan Shi
Ir Dr Anthony Lo
Ir Dr Anthony Lo is Director of Corporate Customer Experience at CLP Power Hong Kong Limited. He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of business customer services and building partnership with customers from the business sectors. He is actively involved in formulating business strategies for driving the application of smart technology, providing value-added services for customers and promoting energy conservation in combating climate change. Dr Lo also manages various funding schemes to support customers in the implementation of energy conservation and renewable applications.
To support the transformation of Hong Kong into a smart city, Dr Lo has established SmartHub@CLP, which has six themed zones, namely Smart Grid, Smart Mobility, Smart Living, Smart Business, Smart Environment and Smart Education. The centre features a 270-degree video projection facility that gives a futuristic impression of a smart city and showcases different technologies that combine to create a smart city.
One of the main concerns for smart cities is mobility because traffic congestion and pollution are some of the biggest challenges we face. Dr Lo is working with different stakeholders from the transport sector to devise low-carbon solutions for driving the adoption of smart transportation in Hong Kong and support the Government’s HK$2b pilot scheme for the existing residential buildings to upgrade their infrastructure for enabling electrical vehicle charging service.
Mr Clement Ho
Clement has over 22 years of international experience in managing transport planning and consulting projects for Arup. He is the Associated Director of Transport Planning of Arup, currently leading the China Transport Planning business, he is also the Digital Transport Leader and Infrastructure Resilience Champion for Transport in Arup’s East Asia Region.
He has extensive international experience on a wide range of transport planning projects. Clement has accumulated sound knowledge on transport planning through extensive work experience on integrated transport studies and multi-disciplinary projects. His experience span across various countries/cities in the Philippines, Bangkok, Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China, UK, Ireland, Portugal, India and Jamaica. Besides, he also helped developing many smart cities and green transport strategies, such as Xiong'an New Area mega urban area and smart city project, Policy Study on Integrated Transport Development in Xiong'an for Asian Development Bank, etc.
Clement is also a Member of Institution of Highways & Transportation, a Chartered Member and currently a Council Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport in Hong Kong. He is also a visiting lecturer on topics such as Transport Planning and Transit-Oriented Development, Smart Cities and Walkability in a number of universities in Hong Kong since 2013.
Prof John Ure
Prof John Ure is an economist specializing in ICT policy, development and regulatory issues. He founded the Technology Research Project (TRP) at the University of Hong Kong 1993 and is co-founder and director of TRPC Pte Ltd (Singapore). He is principal author and editor of two books: Telecommunication in Asia: Policy, Planning and Development (HKU Press 1995; 1997) and Telecommunications Development in Asia (HKU Press, 2008). He is currently programme manager an inter-modal transport data-sharing research programme in Hong Kong as a contribution to smart city development. This includes a Data Trust at the HKU to analyse anonymised and encrypted data from transport operators to help bring about operational efficiencies, a better experience for passengers, a cleaner environment and a template for data-sharing that can be available for other smart city projects.
Mr Ron Chung
Ron Chung is the Director of Engineering and Technical Services for Smart Charge (HK) Limited. He is an engineer by training and has over 27 years of experience in the electricity and gas industry with roles in projects, maintenance, marketing and customer services, business strategy and regulatory affairs.
Ron also has an environmental & sustainability background and is an advocate for clean transportation and energy efficiency. He is also the Chair of the Sustainable Development Committee of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.
Smart Charge (HK) Limited is an equal joint venture between HKT Limited and CLP Holdings Limited which offers total electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions in Hong Kong.
