Mr Kevin O’Brien was appointed as the Chief Executive of Gammon Construction in September 2021 and is responsible for all operations across Asia. He rejoined Gammon having led JEC as their CEO from 2018 – 2021.

He has been based in Hong Kong since 1995.

Mr O’Brien is a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors and takes an active role in the training and development of the future generation of talent for the engineering and construction industry. He has been active with the Business Environment Council since 2018.

Professor John Chai of Fook Tin Group Holdings Limited, is a business leader who embraces visions of corporate sustainability. Prior to joining the Fook Tin Group, Professor Chai was a full-time administrator and faculty member at Northwestern University. He has served as a Director of the Board of Business Environment Council since 2004 and was Chairman of the Board between 2009 and 2016. Among the many initiatives that he spearheaded during his tenure as Chairman included formalizing the governance of Board and committees; structuring BEC’s corporate strategic planning and implementation; empowering members’ with their expertise and leadership to deliver impact through Advisory Groups; promoting the BEC headquarters as Hong Kong’s Green Hub; and, not the least, strengthening the strategic relationship with Hong Kong Green Building Council and the BEAM Society Limited. 

Separately, Professor Chai contributed widely to a range of organizations and public bodies. Such roles include being a member of the Chief Executive’s Council of Advisers on Innovation and Strategic Development, HKSAR, where he offers policy advice to the Chief Executive. He is recently appointed as the Chairman of University Council of Chinese University of Hong Kong after previously serving as the Vice Chairman of University Council at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Mr Peter Lee is the Chief Sustainability Officer of the Airport Authority. He supports, guides and advises the Authority on the formulation and implementation of long-term sustainability strategies that encompass environment, social, governance, and climate resilience at corporate level. He also leads and manages all environmental matters related to the planning and implementation of the Expansion of the Hong Kong International Airport into a Three-Runway System, which is to maintain Hong Kong as an international aviation hub at the heart of Asia Pacific region. Before joining the Airport Authority in 2012, Mr Lee has over 20 years’ experience in environmental and engineering consultancy, leading and managing the EIA studies for a number of major infrastructure and urban development projects. Mr Lee is a founding fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Qualified Environmental Professionals and the Secretary General of the Marine Ecology Enhancement Fund and the Fisheries Enhancement Fund.

Mr Wong Hung Han was appointed as Executive Director and COO of Chinachem Group since 2018.

Hung Han has over 30 years of experience spanning the information technology, consultancy and real estate industries. His career started with Hewlett-Packard, a US multi-national corporation providing IT products and services. Thereafter, he spent a couple of years as a consultant in PricewaterhouseCoopers prior to joining Chinachem Group in 2013. 

In his capacity as COO, Hung Han also oversees Chinachem Group’s ESG strategy and governance, guiding the Group’s strategic approach to sustainable development.

Hung Han holds a Master of Science in Real Estate degree from the University of Hong Kong, a Master of Business Administration degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor of Science (Computer and Information Sciences) degree from the National University of Singapore.

Ms Lena Low is currently Senior Director of Customer Success & Experience at CLP Power Hong Kong, where she is a member of the CLP Power Executive Committee. In this role, she leads retail strategy, customer operations, customer centric innovation, and the development of sustainable energy and customer solutions for Hong Kong’s largest power utility. Her responsibilities span residential, commercial and institutional customers, with a strong focus on enabling energy efficiency, decarbonisation and inclusive access to essential services across the community. 

She has brought over 25 years of cross industry leadership experience across the energy, financial services and technology sectors. Prior to joining CLP in 2018, she held senior leadership roles at DBS Bank, United Overseas Bank and Microsoft. At DBS, she was Managing Director and a member of the Singapore Country Management Committee, where she led large scale service transformation and organisational change across multiple markets. These experiences have shaped her approach to governance, risk management, stakeholder engagement and long term value creation. 

Alongside her executive role, she also serves on the Governing Council of the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency ("HKQAA") since 2023, contributing to the advancement of management excellence, sustainability and responsible business practices in Hong Kong.

Lena holds a bachelor’s degree in Statistics from National University of Singapore and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Adelaide.

Ir Professor Daniel M. Cheng BBS, MH, JP is the Managing Director of Dunwell Technology (Holdings) Ltd., President of Hong Kong Environmental Industries Association, Board member of Business Environment Council and Deputy Chairman of Hong Kong Green Strategy Alliance, Deputy Chairman of Guangdong Nuclear Power Stations Nuclear Safety Consultative Committee, Honorary President and Honorary Fellow of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao-Bay Area Economic And Trade Association. Prof Cheng was the Chairman (2015–2017) and currently Honorary President of Federation of Hong Kong Industries. For HKSAR Government, he is also serving as Member of The Council for Carbon Neutrality and Sustainable Development. 

Prof Cheng was Member of The Chief Executive’s Council of Advisers on Innovation and Strategic Development (2018–2022), member of Advisory Committee on Recycling Fund (2015–2024),  the member of the Committee on Innovation, Technology and Re-industrialisation (2017–2022), member of the Steering Committee on the promotion of Electric Vehicles (“SCPEV”) (2017–2021), the member of Advisory Committee on Water Supplies (2016–2020), the member of Energy Advisory Committee (2014–2016), the member of Trade and Industry Advisory Board (2006–2009), the member of Hong Kong Productivity Council (2009–2015), the Council Member of Hong Kong Trade Development Council (Jul 2013–Jul 2017), Vocational Training Council (2011–2015), he was also the Past Chairman of Hong Kong Waste Management Association (2000–2001), Chairman of Friends of the Earth (HK) (2000–2004). 

Prof Cheng graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, U.S.A. Department of Industrial Engineering in 1981. In February 2014, Prof Cheng was inducted into the "Hall of Fame" by the California Polytechnic University-Pomona. Prof Cheng is a Fellow of Hong Kong Institute of Engineers, Registered Professional Engineer and also Certified Professorate Senior Engineer (China). The Hong Kong Polytechnic University appointed Prof Cheng as Professor of Practice (Management) in the Department of Management & Marketing (2015–2026) and appointed Prof Cheng as Chairman of The Advisory Committee on Management and Marketing (2015–2021) and currently Adjunct Professor in the Department of Management & Marketing. The University of Hong Kong appointed Prof Cheng as Honorary Professor from 2016 to 2019 and currently Adjunct Professor in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering. The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology appointed Prof Cheng as the member of School of Engineering Industrial Advisory Board (2013–2020).

Mr Randy Yu is the General Manager (Community Relations) of Henderson Land Development Company Limited, steering initiatives in sustainability development, corporate citizenship and community relations. Mr Yu is a Chartered Surveyor who possesses over 30 years of experience in construction and property development. He was also a lecturer at the University of Reading (UK), Greenwich University (UK) and the University of Hong Kong, teaching subjects in construction field. In recent years, Mr Yu has dedicated a significant proportion of his time in community works. He is currently a Member of the Islands District Council, Development Bureau’s Lantau Conservation Fund Advisory Committee, Home and Youth Affairs Bureau’s Community Investment & Inclusion Fund and many more public advisory bodies. Mr Yu was appointed as Justice of the Peace of Hong Kong on 1 July 2010 and as New Territories Justices of the Peace in 2020. He was awarded a Medal of Honour in July 2015 in recognition of his long and dedicated public and community services.

Mr Randy Yu currently serves as a Board Director of Business Environment Council ("BEC"), representing Henderson Land Development Company Limited. He has been the Chairman of BEC Communications and Membership Committee since 24 September 2015. Prior to this, he was a Board Director of BEC from 16 June 2011 to 18 February 2015, where he also chaired the Communications and Membership Committee from 7 March 2014 to 18 February 2015. Additionally, Mr Yu was a Director of Hong Kong Green Building Council from 2014 to 2015 and currently holds a Director position there since 2024 and he has been the Chairman of the Governance and Quality Committee of HKGBC since 2025.

Ir Derek Chan is the Technical Manager, Technical Services at Hongkong Land (Property Management) Limited. He has extensive experience in retrofitting existing buildings, technical services in property management industry, consulting industry, strategic corporate sustainability, and project management. He has been a member of BEC Climate Change Business Forum Advisory Group, Circular Economy Advisory Group, and Energy Transition Advisory Group. He has also worked in Australia, Canada, and Hong Kong with projects experience across China, Southeast Asia, and Oceania. He is also heavily involved in different public bodies and organisations advocating technical excellence and sustainability in existing buildings.

Mr Wong graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration degree.  Mr Wong is a fellow of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers and a fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors.

Ivy is the Managing Director of Leigh & Orange Ltd. ("L&O") and Partner overseeing L&O’s business development and operations in China, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. L&O was founded in Hong Kong in 1874 and is an international architectural practice employing over 300 staff, with the group’s head office in the HKSAR. Branch offices are located in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Fuzhou, Macau and Doha under the management from the head office.

Ivy obtained her 1st Class Honours Degree in Architecture from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and joined L&O following graduation. In 2001, she qualified as a Registered Architect, and was elected as a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects in 2017. Ivy is a highly motivational leader and talented architect, also an influential member of the design and sustainability community. With an exemplary record for inspirational design and successful delivery of complex multi-disciplinary projects – both in the public and private sectors including many of the most complex recent projects in this region. Current projects include various sizeable mixed use and institutional projects globally.

Ivy has been a Board Member of the Architects Registration Board ("ARB") from 2022 to 2024, is currently the Vice Chairperson of The Association Architectural Practices ("AAP"), and serves as a member of a range of key community and Government appointed advisory bodies such as: Environmental Campaign Committee of the Environment and Ecology Bureau, Organisation Member of Harbourfront Commission, Development Bureau. Ivy is currently a Board Member at the Ocean Park Corporation and was recently appointed as a Star Mentor for the “Strive and Rise Programme” of the HKSAR.

Horace Lo was appointed the Group Managing Director of Modern Terminals Limited on 1 February 2020.

Horace joined Modern Terminals in 1995 as Project Development Manager and since then held various roles including Chief Development Officer and Director of Engineering, responsible for development projects in the Mainland and Hong Kong. He participated in and led the development of several terminal projects for Modern Terminals, including Hong Kong’s largest Container Terminal 9, DaChan Bay Terminals in the Pearl River Delta and Taicang Terminals in Yangtze River Delta.

Prior to joining Modern Terminals, Horace had extensive working experience with renowned engineering and consultancy firms in Hong Kong and overseas. He has over 35 years of experience in infrastructure and container port development.

Horace has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of New South Wales, Australia as well as an MBA degree from the University of Sydney, Australia. Besides being a Chartered Engineer, he is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong, Corporate Representative at The American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, as well as a member of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce’s ("HKGCC") China Committee and Co-Vice Chairman of the Chamber’s Transport and Logistics Committee, a committee member of The Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong and sits on its External Affairs Committee and Mainland Affairs Committee.

Horace sits on the Port Development Committee ("PDC") under the Hong Kong Maritime and Port Development Board ("HKMPDB") which main functions are to conduct research, make recommendations and implement initiatives for enhancing the competitiveness of the Hong Kong Port, taking into account salient developments and collaboration opportunities in the international arena, in accordance with the steer of the main Board. He is also a member of the Port Operations Committee of the Marine Department, the Maritime Services Training Board of the Vocational and Training Council in Hong Kong and Board of Directors of Business Environment Council ("BEC").

Since joining Schneider Electric three decades ago, Jonathan has held leadership positions across multiple business divisions. He is passionate about harnessing energy technology to advance digitalisation, electrification and automation, driving greater efficiency and sustainability across buildings, data centres, infrastructure and grids in Hong Kong. His extensive experience has been instrumental in broadening Schneider Electric’s impact and strengthening its position as a trusted partner in the region.

Jonathan currently serves on the Board of Directors at BEC, and was named Sustainability Leader of the Year at the HKMA Hong Kong Sustainability Award 2023.

With more than 30 years of experience in the energy sector, Ms Yu has led transformational initiatives spanning strategy, investment and partnership driven growth. At Shell Hong Kong, she has championed the development of low carbon energy solutions, including the expansion of electric vehicle charging services through Shell Recharge and the introduction of alternative fuels such as hydrotreated vegetable oil (“HVO”) and biodiesel. These efforts support decarbonisation across transport and mobility while contributing to a more resilient energy system for Hong Kong.

Ms Yu has been a member of the Business Environment Council (“BEC”) Board since 2020 and joined its Executive Committee in 2022. She is committed to promoting sustainable business practices and strengthening collaboration between the business community and wider society in support of Hong Kong’s sustainable development.
Ms Yu joined Shell in 1992 and holds a Bachelor of Information Technology from Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia.

Aaron Sloan is Head of Sustainable Development at Swire Pacific Limited, leading the Group’s sustainability function, and its sustainability strategy, governance and disclosure. He oversees Group performance against environmental targets, climate and nature risk assessment, and implementation of internal carbon pricing. Aaron manages the Swire Pacific Sustainable Development Fund (HK$100 million annually) and developed Swire Pacific’s first sustainability-linked loan framework. He represents sustainability on the Swire Group Risk Management and Sustainability committees.

Prior to his current role, Aaron led climate projects and disclosure at John Swire & Sons (HK) and advised regional and global corporates on sustainability matters for several years as a consultant. He holds an MSocSc in Corporate Environmental Governance (Distinction) from The University of Hong Kong and a BSc in International Development from the University of London, and has completed executive education with the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership in sustainability management and sustainable finance. Aaron serves as an ESG Committee Member at The British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.

Mr Patrick Ho is responsible for formulating and executing a corporate sustainability strategy for Swire Properties’ global operations across Hong Kong, Chinese Mainland and USA portfolios. Through engaging stakeholders, setting targets and developing action plans, he leads a team to manage the full spectrum of the Company’s environmental, social and economic impact and to integrate ESG considerations into every facet of Swire Properties’ business.  

Patrick is a Board Director of Business Environment Council ("BEC"), and the Chair for their Nature and Biodiversity Advisory Group. He sits on the Corporate Advisory Board of World Green Building Council, and a Board Member of World Business Council for Sustainable Development ("WBCSD") - Built Environment Pathway. He is a Member to the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures ("TNFD") and Science Based Targets initiative ("SBTi") Expert Advisory Group for Building Sector, and Real Estate Standard Committee Member of Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark ("GRESB").

Bien Wong is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in sustainability strategy development, corporate communications, and investor relations. As the head of Group ESG, he oversees the integration of sustainability concepts into business strategies, ensuring compliance with stringent international sustainability standards. He has a proven track record at global firms and companies listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, specialising in corporate compliance and the disclosure of environmental, social, and governance ("ESG") policies.

In addition to his professional responsibilities, Bien is actively engaged in public service, focusing on sustainable finance, social impact investment, and corporate governance. He serves on multiple advisory committees for the HKSAR Government, including the Environmental Campaign Committee Publicity Working Group and the Housing Appeal Panel. Additionally, he is a Board Governor for Friends of the Earth Hong Kong, advocating for sustainable practices and environmental stewardship. Bien has also served as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Hong Kong Baptist University, where he taught courses in sustainability.

He holds a master’s degree from The University of Hong Kong and a bachelor’s degree from the University of York in the United Kingdom.

Mr Zhang Huifeng joined HSBC in 2005. As Regional Head of Sustainability Strategy, Philanthropy and Partnerships, he leads the Bank’s sustainability strategy across Asia and the Middle East. His remit includes regional climate strategy development, philanthropy and strategic partnerships, thought leadership, and capacity building. He also works closely with frontline banking teams to provide advisory support and co-create sustainable finance and investment solutions for clients across the region.

Prior to HSBC, Mr Zhang worked at BNP Paribas and ABN AMRO in trade finance and corporate banking. He has also managed and consulted on projects in China financed by the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank. 

Mr Zhang holds an MBA in Business Management from Manchester Business School.
