BEC Spoke at CONNECTION 2017 conference
Our Director of Green Building & IAQ, Ir CF Leung, shared how to integrate sustainability into businesses at Link REIT’s CONNECTION 2017 conference on 23 March 2017.
BEC Met with Big Waster at Hong Kong Rugby Sevens
BEC collaborated with Hong Kong Rugby Union, the Environmental Protection Department, and other organisations to launch this year’s Green Sevens Campaign which included a series of waste reduction and clean recycling initiatives at Hong Kong Stadium and Chater Garden. BEC rendered its support by providing consultation for developing green event guidelines and assisting community educational activities, successfully taking this year’s Green Sevens Campaign to the next level.
BEC Policy submission: Hong Kong 2030+
BEC has submitted a response to Hong Kong 2030+ with 5 key principles: 1) the development strategy should be aligned with HK’s climate goals; 2) HK should strive to be an exemplary liveable city; 3) HK should be a testbed for smart and innovative sustainable development approaches while cultivating human capital; 4) embodied carbon in construction should be addressed and minimised; 5) natural capital should be suitably valued and conserved. BEC Policy submission: Marine Emissions Control
The Government is proposing to require marine vessels to use low-sulphur fuel when entering Hong Kong’s waters. This will align with the requirements of the PRD Domestic Emissions Control Area. BEC is supportive of this proposal and has submitted a response to Environmental Protection Department. Thank you to all BEC members who provided inputs to this submission. 2017 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence
BEC, as one of the organisers of the "2017 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence" (HKAEE), is now inviting local companies/ organisations to join this annual landmark event of Hong Kong's environmental sector.
